What’s New in Catherine: Full Body? Everything You Need to Know

The biggest change being implemented in Catherine: Full Body is the inclusion of Rin, a new character and potential third love interest for Vincent. Introduced as an amnesiac girl who Vincent rescues in a dark alleyway, Rin takes up work at the Stray Sheep as a pianist while trying to recover her lost memories.

A Fourth Party, Rin

The biggest change being implemented in Catherine: Full Body is the inclusion of Rin, a new character and potential third love interest for Vincent.

Introduced as an amnesiac girl who Vincent rescues in a dark alleyway, Rin takes up work at the Stray Sheep as a pianist while trying to recover her lost memories.

For unknown reasons, she also makes an appearance in the nightmare world as a pianist, helping to slow the fall of the blocks and giving the sheep more time to climb to safety.

There’s a whole new story route to pursue with Rin in Catherine: Full Body, allowing Vincent to turn away from both Catherine and Katherine, and go for a completely different path instead.

New Story Content for Catherine and Katherine

However, if you’re a fan of the original leading girls, there’s quite a bit of new story content for both of them as well.

Both girls get new, full animated cutscenes that help flesh them out even further, particularly in Katherine’s case.

In between some of the puzzle stages, you’ll be able to see flashbacks of the early days of Vincent and Katherine’s relationship, and get some insight as to how they ended up together in the first place.

In Catherine’s case, without spoiling too much of the story, our only hint is this: stay in the Stray Sheep bar as late as you can.

Both girls also get brand new True endings, and these are definitely worth going for.

New Puzzles

Arguably the best part about Catherine: Full Body is the addition of new puzzles and puzzle modes.

First off, the Babel challenge mode now has online functionality, allowing you to actively compete with other players, and there’s also a ranking system to let you know how well you’re doing. And, of course, the Babel stages also come with a host of new puzzle levels to attempt.

Even the Rapunzel stages in the Stray Sheep have new puzzles, and if you liked how much more challenging these were than the regular nightmare ones, you should be pleasantly surprised here.

Lastly, Catherine: Full Body also introduces Remix mode, which allows you to encounter linked block clusters that move together when you pull them out of block towers.

These create a whole other level of strategy you have to consider when climbing, and they serve as a nice challenge even for the most seasoned Catherine players.

Gameplay Changes

Finally, outside of all the big inclusions, there are some minor, but still lovely, quality of life improvements as well.

For instance, text messaging feels much more efficient now that you can quickly choose your desired response from a short list. Difficulty options have also been tweaked so that you can change them on the fly, and skip puzzles that you’ve already completed before.

A new Safety difficulty option has also been included for players who are just here for the story, and it allows you to skip all puzzles, regardless of whether you’ve beaten them.
