Developed by Kinetic Games, Phasmophobia is the latest horror sensation tearing up the Steam charts, making it one of the best games for you to play with your friends during the spooky Halloween season. As you get better at the game and unlock more tools, you’ll be able to start increasing the difficulty as well. Here’s a breakdown of all difficulty differences in Phasmophobia and how to unlock them.

All Difficulty Differences in Phasmophobia

First off, when you’re just getting started in the game, you’ll only be able to play maps at the Amateur level setting. However, as you play more, gain experience points and level up, you’ll unlock the other two settings.

Intermediate is unlocked at level 5, and Professional is unlocked at level 15. Once you hit those levels, you’ll be able to start selecting the harder jobs on your map. Before you do, though, here’s what you need to know about the difficulty differences in the game.

Amateur: The default difficulty level of the game, Amateur gives you five minutes of prep time when you exit the van and check out the locale. This means that you can set up all your equipment in the first five minutes in peace, and chances are good that you’ll even be able to collect all evidence before anyone gets attacked or even remotely spooked. Even when the ghost starts hunting you, the hunting phases happen much less frequently.

Intermediate: The prep time gets reduced to three minutes, and the ghost will be more aggressive when hunting you.

Professional: Finally, the highest difficulty setting gives you no prep time at all, which means that you have a chance of getting hunted the second you step into the house. Furthermore, if you happen to die and fail the job, you’ll receive way less money than you normally would on other settings.

That’s all you need to know about the difficulty differences in Phasmophobia. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
