How to Find the Signal Repeater Schematics Fallout 76 Signal Strength Quest
Fallout 76 puts a big emphasis on crafting, so you’ll be traipsing around the wasteland looking for all sorts of materials, plans, and schematics. Here’s how to find the signal repeater schematics in Fallout 76’s Signal Strength quest.
First, Meet Rose
While you won’t actually meet Rose the Raider “face-to-face” until after you complete this quest, you’ll pick up the Signal Strength mission from her after heading to Top of the World and trying to ride the elevator up to the 3rd floor. You’ll soon hear her instructions, one of which will be to find the Signal Repeater Schematics.
Depending on how much fighting you want to do, you could tackle this quest as early as around level 10 if you’re feeling brave (and have a good amount of aid supplies). If you want to destroy every enemy you encounter maybe consider being level 15+ (and still bring a good amount of aid supplies).
How to Find the Signal Repeater Schematics
If you haven’t discovered any locations near the map marker for this quest, it can be a difficult walk there from Top of the World. There are a number of sharp cliff drop-offs you’ll have to look out for, so either equip some power armor (for 0 fall damage) or watch your step!
Speaking of map markers, the marker for this portion of the quest has been known to be a bit buggy. Sometimes the marker may not appear at all, and sometimes it will confusingly indicate a nearby building.
Quitting out to the main menu and logging back in will fix this problem, or you can ignore any incorrect map markers and simply head to the Seneca Rocks Visitors Center. Once there, you’ll find a few scorched wandering about the courtyard area, as well as the body of one Major Darion Jones on the upper exterior walkway.
You guessed it– he’s holding the schematics you need!
Here are the rest of the steps you’ll need to do to finish the quest. Read on for details and tips:
How to Find the RCX01-A39 Duplexer at the 98 NAR Regional
The location you’re looking for is the wreckage of a train carrying precious military cargo, and, as you might expect, lots of aggressive military robot protection.
It’s a rocky walk to the southeast of Top of the World, and along the way, you’ll encounter pockets of lower level diseased wildlife, and higher level super mutants– although it’s possible to sprint through relatively unscathed.
Once you find the 98 NAR Regional, you’ll simply need to follow the waypoint to one of the derelict train cars that have crashed near the road. The Duplexer will be on the body of a soldier, along with instructions on how to install it (although you could ignore these and follow the quest markers if you choose).
How to Find the SMU-97 Transponder near Horizon’s Rest
Horizon is (or was) a plane, and it rests in a million pieces along a cliffside. This location is really cool, but it’s also crawling with super mutants! You can avoid most of them by approaching from the north where the cockpit of the plane is located; inside which is the transponder you need.
How to Craft a Signal Repeater
You’ll need to find a Tinker’s Workbench and a few common crafting materials to create the signal repeater. If you haven’t build a Tinker’s Workbench at your CAMP, there’s actually one located on the second floor (Mezzanine level) of Top of the World. To craft the signal repeater you’ll need:
- Aluminum (8)
- Gear (5)
- Oil (7)
- Screw (4)
- Spring (4)
How to Install the Signal Repeater at the National Isolated Radio Array
Ok, now it’s time to get this bad-boy plugged in and working. Head to the National Isolated Radio Array marked on your map. The enemies you’ll encounter along the way there will be much like the journey to find the Duplexer.
Surprisingly, the giant signal dish is not where you’re headed, you actually want the smaller dish to the north. Try to approach the location towards this end to avoid some fairly powerful feral ghouls and a group of super mutants.
Watch out! Installing the signal repeater will activate a group of very angry military guard-bots! If you’re able to survive that, head to the nearby control tower to use the computer there to boost the signal strength. Select the “Auxillary Component Control” section on the computer, and then “Divert Power”.
You should soon hear Rose’s voice loud and clear! Return to her at Top of the World (now you can access the third floor on the elevator).
That does it for how to find the signal repeater schematics in Fallout 76’s Signal Strength quest.
