Here’s everything you need to know about how to get the Fat Man in Fallout 76.

Fallout 76, the latest title from Bethesda Games Studios, has shaken up the familiar Fallout formula. This time around, everything is entirely online, unlike its predecessors, which were single-player only. Boasting a massive map and multiplayer component, Fallout 76 differentiates itself from past titles.

This, of course, leads to a lot of questions on how to obtain certain items, quests, and exploration, but don’t worry because we’re here to answer your questions.

One of the most notable items in Fallout is the Fat Man. This weapon is a handheld catapult that shoots mini nuclear bombs to cause total devastation. Obviously not nearly as destructive as the real nuclear warheads you can drop in Fallout 76, but a good last resort to have in your back pocket.

How to Get the Fat Man

In Fallout 76 there are different variants of the Fat Man, but one known as the Daisycutter can be obtained in the side quest An Organic Panic, or it can be purchased from a vendor.

Regular Fat Man can be crafted using the following resources

  • 10 Aluminum
  • 3 Circuitry
  •  4 Nuclear Material
  • 5 Rubber
  • 15 Spring
  • 15 Steel
  • 15 Screw

In order to craft the Fat Man, you will need a workbench, the blueprints for the weapon, your Gunsmith at level five, and Demolition Expert at level one.

This weapon can also be obtained via random loot drops from quests and exploration. Quests like The Motherlode offer a random heavy weapon at the conclusion, which could reward you with a Fat Man.

Places like the Garrison Mining Headquarters will also have enemies equipped with a Fat Man, which can be looted after killing them.

The same goes with finding the plans for the weapon. Blueprints are also random drops from killing enemies and completing both main and side quests. So the more you explore and complete, the higher the chance of finding a Fat Man becomes for you.
