Xbox One Q1
This schedule will be updated as titles receive locked-in release dates, and more games are announced.
In Q1 of 2017, Xbox One fans have plenty to look forward to including one particularly exciting console exclusive. Feb. 21 will see the release of Halo Wars 2, which will let players take control of a crew on board the Spirit of Fire as they fend off a new threat to humanity. Of course, players can expect the standard skirmish and multiplayer modes alongside the new campaign, too.
If RTS games aren’t your cup of tea, there are plenty of third-party alternatives to choose from. Horror fans have Resident Evil 7: Biohazard to look forward to on Jan. 24, For Honor will offer up some intense melee combat action on Feb. 14, and most notably, Mass Effect: Andromeda will see us venture off into a new, unexplored galaxy for some more RPG and third-person shooter action.

Xbox One Q2
The number of titles confirmed for the Xbox One in Q2 drops off compared to the huge number of titles coming in the opening few months. However, there are still some great games to look forward to. Adopting an art style reminiscent of 1930s cartoons, Cuphead is a run and gun action game with a heavy focus on crushingly difficult boss battles.
Alternatively, those looking for a different kind of blast from the past have Yooka-Laylee to look forward to. Created by the talented folks behind Banjo-Kazooie, Yooka-Laylee is the spiritual successor to the classic platformer. Players will have to use Yooka and Laylee’s wide array of special moves to navigate numerous worlds and defeat enemies in search of Pagies. Yooka-Laylee is due to release April 4.
What Remains of Edit Finch is a playable collection of short and dark stories centered around the mysterious Finch family and their dilapidated home, and Valkyria Revolution, the spin-off ARPG of the Valkyria series are also both due to release sometime in Q2.
