The Genshin Impact 2.3 Special Program stream ended not too long ago, and, as usual, it provided plenty of details on what’s to come in this new update on Nov. 24. With the Inazuma storyline completed, 2.3 is set to bring us back to Dragonspine for another questline focused on Albedo. Here’s a rundown of everything we know about what’s coming in the Genshin Impact 2.3 update.
New Banners: Itto, Gorou, Albedo, & Eula
What’s New in Genshin Impact 2.3
The 2.3 update is introducing two new characters to Genshin Impact alongside a rerun for Albedo and Eula. Arataki Itto is a five-star Geo claymore user who happens to be a wanted Oni in Inazuma, and you’ll learn more about him through his personal story quest.
Itto’s normal attacks and Elemental Skill give him stacks of Superlative Superstrength, which boosts his charged attack damage. His Elemental Burst infuses his attacks with Geo, increases his ATK stat based on his DEF, but also drops his physical and elemental resistance.
Gorou is a four-star bow user who has already been introduced through the Inazuma Archon Quests, so players should be familiar with him by now after aiding both him and Kokomi in the battle against the Raiden Shogun.
Albedo and Eula should also be familiar to most since they’ve been payable for a while. Albedo is another five-star Geo character who fights with a sword, while Eula is a five-star Cryo claymore wielder.
Wish System Changes
What’s New in Genshin Impact 2.3
For the very first time in the game’s short history, miHoYo is making the two limited five-star banners available at once. Eula and Albedo’s banners will be up at the same time and they’ll share the wish guarantee independently of the other banners.
This means that if you pull for Eula 80 times, then Albedo 10 times, you’ll have a 50% chance at getting him — or 100% chance if you weren’t lucky enough to get him once already.
Pulling for characters or weapons on the standard banner or weapon banner won’t affect the wishes being counted for Albedo and Eula, also.
So, if you’re worried about not being lucky enough to pull the characters you really want, this wish system change might just help you out.
Golden Wolflord World Boss
What’s New in Genshin Impact 2.3
Here’s some potentially bad news for those who hate going up against Rifthounds. This new Golden Wolflord world boss will appear on Inazuma’s Tsurumi Island in version 2.3.
As you’d expect, this king of the Rifthounds can also apply the Corrosion status, which drains the HP of all party members whether they’re active or not — and a shield can’t save you from that, so you’ll need some great healers.
The Golden Wolflord can also summon Rifthound Skulls to defend and shield itself. In the later stages of the fight, the boss’s attack will increase as its resistance to Geo damage goes down. This means that Itto, Gorou, and Albedo will be a huge help here.
Events Overview
What’s New in Genshin Impact 2.3
This version isn’t introducing a new area to the game, but it’s bringing us back to Dragonspine for some new events and questlines.
The Dragonspine Special Training challenges will test your agility on snowy race tracks, tracking skills through target hunting, and fighting skills with combat training.
New metal Lures like the one in the image above can be found around the region and they emit cold air that attracts monsters. Thankfully, they can be switched to a mode that provides heat instead. Also, completing these tasks will earn you Snowman Components that can be used to build custom snowmen in Dragonspine and the Serenitea Pot.
The other major event in 2.3 is called ‘Creatures Big and Small,’ and it has to do with finding small animals after many have gone missing throughout Inazuma. Locate these lost animals while avoiding the gaze of the Canine Bunshin that guard them by using the new Gadget Ubiquity Net to create firework distractions.
Once this animal-focused event is over, the Omni-Ubiquity Net will be obtained, allowing players to invite certain creatures to their Serenitea Pots. And on a slightly unrelated note, Paimon can now be invited as well.
Weapons & Artifacts
What’s New in Genshin Impact 2.3
It wouldn’t be a Genshin Impact update without a few new items to upgrade your team, so version 2.3 is adding two new weapons and two new artifact sets.
The five-star Redhorn Stonethresher claymore and four-star Cinnabar Spindle sword. The claymore’s main stat is CRIT damage, and its ability increases DEF by 28% and boosts normal and charged attack damage by 40% of DEF, which makes it perfect for Itto.
The sword, on the other hand, raises DEF as its main stat. Its ability increases Elemental Skill damage by 40% of DEF, and this skill can only be used once every 1.5 seconds. The effect is cleared 0.1 seconds after an Elemental Skill deals damage.
The weapons are coming to the game alongside the Ocean-Hued Clam and Husk of Opulent Dreams artifact sets. The Clam artifacts provide a 15% healing bonus for the two-piece set, and for the four-piece set, it essentially deals damage based on the amount of healing that occurs during a three-second window.
The Husk artifacts increase DEF by 30% for the two-piece set and increase GEO damage and DEF after the user uses Geo attacks when holding its four-piece set.
More Hangout Events
What’s New in Genshin Impact 2.3
The fourth Hangout Event Series is adding new events for Gorou and Beidou this time around. Last time, Sayu and Thoma were added to the list.
Beidou has been a part of the game since its launch, so it’ll be interesting learning more about the ship captain along with the newcomer from Kokomi’s army, Gorou.
If you’re looking for guides on how to get all of the endings for Barbara, Chongyun, Noelle, or Bennett, we’ve got you covered with a few walkthroughs from when the Hangout Events first started.
That’s everything you need to know about what’s coming to Genshin Impact in the version 2.3 update later this month. Be sure to check out our guide wiki for more tips, tricks, and other useful info on the game.
