The brand new Shadowkeep expansion is finally out for Destiny 2, and this time around we’re going back to the Moon and reuniting with Eris Morn, who hasn’t been seen since the Red War. Here’s how to get Phantasmal Fragments and what they do in Destiny 2 Shadowkeep.
How to Get Phantasmal Fragments in Destiny 2 Shadowkeep
Very early on in the story, you’ll be given a quest to collect Phantasmal Fragments to investigate the connection between the Hive and the Nightmare. Collecting them is pretty easy, and generally all you have to do is hunt down Nightmare enemies.
While on the Moon, you’ll want to look out for red energy mists that, when approached, will spawn an elite yellow-bar enemy. Kill this enemy, and it’ll drop a Phantasmal Fragment for you.
Aside from that, they can also be obtained from Nightmare enemies (which also have yellow bars) that spawn randomly around the open world.
If you’re not a fan of just wandering around the Moon in search of these foes, though, they can also be encountered during Strikes, and will also drop Phantasmal Fragments for you.
Lastly, once you unlock the Lectern of Enchantment on the Moon, you can also claim Nightmare bounties. These will reward you with easy Phantasmal Fragments as well.
What They Do
As the name suggests, Phantasmal Fragments can be exchanged for Phantasmal Cores from the Lectern of Enchantment, which is unlocked just a few quests into Destiny 2 Shadowkeep’s campaign.
In turn, these Phantasmal Cores are then used to purchase Essence bounties. Once you’ve completed enough of them, you’ll obtain the Dreambane Armor set.
That’s all you need to know about how to get Phantasmal Fragments and what they do in Destiny 2 Shadowkeep. Be sure to check our Shadowkeep guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
