How to Increase Reputation in Octopath Traveler
The beautiful pixel-art JRPG from Square Enix, Octopath Traveler, has finally arrived on the Nintendo Switch. It’s been more than a year since the reveal of the Switch itself, which is also the first time we got a look at the game, but we’ve learned a lot about it since then. On top of the obvious visual and audio beauty, Octopath Traveler allows you to play as eight different characters, each of which has their own story beats and skills. One of the things that makes each character unique is their Path Actions. Path Actions are skills that help characters in battle, and picking the character with the most helpful Path Action is vital. They are also important to your character’s reputation. Reputation is important, and you’ll probably want to know how to increase it.
If you fail to execute a Path Action too many times in Octopath Traveler, your character’s reputation will begin to fall and NPCs in that town will not be receptive to your Path Actions. Whether those Path Actions are Guide, Scrutinize, Provoke, or something else, they will not be effective if your reputation is low. If this happens to you, you can fix it, for a price. Head to the Tavern and talk to the Keeper there. When speaking to him, choose the Restore Reputation option, pay the quite hefty price, and carry on with your journey. It’s best to avoid this situation if you can, but keep this fix in mind if you ever need it.
