How to Beat Flavius in Assassin’s Creed Origins

Flavius is the head of the Order of the Ancients in Egypt in Assassin’s Creed Origins. He’s a close friend of Ceasar, a vicious leader, and the man who was truly responsible for the death of Bayek’s son which kicks off the events of Assassin’s Creed Origins. Flavius is one of the final targets you’ll have to deal with in the game, and he puts up one hell of a fight thanks to his possession of the Apple of Eden. Flavius can be the toughest fight if you don’t know how to get around his attacks, but don’t worry, we’re here to help you beat him in Assassin’s Creed Origins and quell the roar of the Lion once and for all.

You’ll fight Flavius as Bayek in a room with columns on either side in Assassin’s Creed Origins. He’s fast, and with the power of the Apple of Eden everything comes across as distorted, allowing him to seemingly teleport around for deadly melee attacks and fire out powerful blasts. Flavius has very good defense, available to dodge most attacks if you aren’t quick enough. To help counter that you want to prepare a few things. A light bow (plus a warrior bow if you have two slots), and a fast weapon like a hook sword, or one with decent range like a spear. You also want to be around level 32 so you don’t take too much damage during the fight (lower puts you at risk to be two shot or even one shot). Now for the fight.

Flavius opens up with teleportation and melee combos. You can easily dodge, but this makes locking onto him virtually impossible since it breaks whenever he teleports. He usually teleports right behind you, so dodge to the side then attack behind you to try and get a hit or two off. What works best against him, though, is your bow. You can pepper Flavius with headshots, steadily depleting his health from a safe distance. When he teleports, just roll away, turn around and continue to fire. There are a few ammo quivers located around the room, so you can reload if need be (but don’t until all of your bows are depleted).

When Flavius stands still and you see a red line on the floor leading to him, start to dodge sideways. He’ll fire a powerful energy blast that can do massive damage and stun you. Just dodge and continue to use your bow until he switches back to melee or vanishes.

When he vanishes, green apparitions will appear in his stead. They will use melee and try to grab you. They can only take damage from your bow, so don’t try to get close for melee. A single shot kills them. When they’re all gone, Flavius will return and you can continue as you did before until he summons the apparitions again.

After the second wave of apparitions, which work just like the first even though there are more of them, Flavius will have a new ability. He will slam the Apple of Eden, but before doing so a red ring will appear around him. Get out of this ring or you’ll find yourself stunned and floating in the air, open to attack. If you’re a high enough level you’ll survive it, but it’s not worth the risk. Just maintain a sizable distance and keep firing away. Before you know it, you will overcome one of Assassin’s Creed Origins’ most powerful enemies.
