In Valve’s popular MOBA Dota 2, teamwork is a key part of the game. Strategising a gank or collaborating for a good play could make or break a match right off the bat. Team synergy and a lack of in-game flaming/trolling will always help lead to a win. However, sometimes you’ve just got to be able to talk to your foes as well as your friends. Whether you’re engaging them to link up because you liked their play, or barraging them with insults, that’s up to you, but it’s a useful tool that every Dota player should have in their arsenal.

The normal way to talk to your team is to tap Enter, which should bring up the chat box in the bottom middle of the screen. This is normally utilized to call-out ganks and set up engagements. All-chat is simply a button away. All you need do is hold Shift and then hit Enter to bring up the all chat mode. In this box your messages will be sent to everyone, not just your team mates. Be careful not to use it by mistake when strategising with your own team though, as you could reveal game-winning tactics to your enemies.
