Finally, for big-time fans of Microsoft’s home consoles or those just looking for a solid next-gen option, the Xbox Series X has arrived. With the next generation of gaming comes a lot of new helpful features such as better load times and quick resume. Some features from last-gen are making the trip over to this new generation as well. Here’s how to upload saves to the cloud for Xbox Series X and Series S.
How to Upload Saves to Cloud on Xbox Series X
Perhaps the most convenient and impressive feature from the last generation was how Xbox handled cloud saves. Without any input from the player, saves would automatically be saved up to the cloud and could be continued on any current-gen console that you were able to sign into your Microsoft account on and, of course, redownload the game the save was attached to.
This continues with the Xbox Series X and Series S. All saves are uploaded to the cloud automatically without any input needed from you, the player, provided you are connected to the internet.
This is a free service. While you do need to be signed up for Xbox Live, you don’t need to purchase a Gold-level subscription, the free tier will enable cloud saves for you.
If you played on Xbox One and are making the jump to an Xbox Series S or and Xbox Series X, you’ll be able to access your save files from last-generation on your new next-gen console and continue your save progress from any backwards compatible games.
That’s all you need to know for how to upload saves to the cloud on Xbox Series X and Series S. Below you can check out some more helpful Xbox Series X guides to help you get started with your new next-gen console!
