Need for Speed Payback‘s roster of vehicles is pretty extensive and all of them act differently on the road. While pretty unrealistic, some of them can wheelie, lifting the front wheels off the ground while accelerating. If you’re struggling to pull one off, here’s everything you need to know about how to wheelie in Need for Speed Payback.

While pulling off a wheelie is usually something reserved for bikes in racing games, you’re actually able to do so with some of the supercars in Payback.

How to Wheelie in Need for Speed Payback

First things first, you’ll need to have a car that’s classified as a DRAG car, which should have rear wheel drive, allowing them to continue accelerating with the front two wheels in the air. Without a car of the right class, you simply won’t be able to do a wheelie.

However, you might still struggle to do one without the right tuning settings, even on DRAG cars.

What you need to do is open up the Quick Tuning menu while driving by pressing down on the d-pad. There, you should see three options for DRAG cars.

What you want to do to maximize your wheelie potential is turn the top option all the way to max acceleration and the nitrous one all the way to max power. What that will do is maximize the power you get from a standing start.

Then, with those settings, it’s best to wheelie from a stop. With your finger on the brake, accelerate hard to spin your car’s wheels and up the revs. Then, let go of the brake and use your nitrous as soon as you see the front wheels start to lift up. Don’t use it right away, wait a fraction of a second after you start moving to add the extra boost.

You should then pull off a wheelie quite easily, with the more power you have extending the time you’re in the air.

That’s everything you need to know about how to wheelie in Need for Speed Payback. For more tips and tricks on the game, be sure to search for Twinfinite.
