How to WHISTLE – THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: BREATH OF THE WILD

Zelda: Breath of the Wild has an enormous map to explore, and luckily Link can secure the help of a trusty steed to get from place to place in a timely fashion. Just like in other past titles in the series, whistling calls your horse to your location so you can mount up and head out. It can also be used to attract enemies, of course. Because it’s so useful, we’ll walk you through how to whistle in Breath of the Wild.

In order to whistle and call your horse, you just hit down on the down on the d-pad, but remember that your horse has to be nearby in order for it to work and have it come towards you. If your horse happens to be left on the other side of the map, whistling won’t be much help to call it to you, and you’ll just be whistling the attention of enemies.

Getting your own horse will require you to tame one, and if you want to keep it for good, you can take it to a stable and pay 20 Rupees to get a bridle, saddle, and the ability to name it.
