Xenoblade Chronicles was originally released for the Wii back in 2010, but now it’s making a grand return with an enhanced and improved Definitive Edition on the Nintendo Switch. This version of the game comes with various improvements like upgraded graphics, as well as a few quality of life changes. Here’s how to change clothes and get more outfits in Xenoblade Chronicles.

Getting More Outfits in Xenoblade Chronicles

Because this is a JRPG, you can bet that there will be tons of different articles of clothing for you to obtain in the game. Whenever you find new weapons or armor, you can equip them and it’ll automatically change your appearance.

Armor sets can typically be bought from merchants for a set amount of money, but you can also get them as quest rewards from NPCs or through chests in the open world. The most reliable way is to just purchase them, though, as nearly every new merchant you meet in the game will sell you different outfits.

How to Change Clothes

The problem with equipping different types of armor in Xenoblade Chronicles is that you’ll inevitably end up with a mishmash of clothes from different sets, making your character look a little silly. With Definitive Edition, Monolith Soft has a workaround for this issue.

Bring up the menu with the X button and choose the Equipment option. The top part of the screen lets you choose which armor and weapons you want to equip, while the bottom half lets you change your appearance.

Under the Appearance section, you can customize your characters and change their clothes to whatever you want without affecting the armor they’re actually equipped with. This is essentially like a transmog feature where you can make your character take on the appearance of whichever armor set you’ve already unlocked and set it to that for the rest of the game.

That’s all you need to know about how to change clothes and get more outfits in Xenoblade Chronicles. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
