How to Skip Cutscenes in Metro Exodus
Metro Exodus finally sees Artyom escape from the dark and dingy tunnels of the metro and begin exploring the surface once again. He guides a team across what they once thought was uninhabitable land after the bombs dropped, but if you just want shooting action, you may not care about the story. Here’s how to skip cutscenes in Metro Exodus.
First things first, it’s worth noting that even if you don’t care in the slightest about Metro Exodus’ story, you’re not always going to be able to skip cutscenes. Some of them you’ll be forced to watch, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing considering how great the game looks running on a PS4 Pro or Xbox One X from our experience.
However, if you come across a cutscene you want to skip in Metro Exodus, all you have to do is press and hold Square on PS4, or X on Xbox One. You’ll see a prompt flash up occasionally in the bottom right-hand corner whenever this option is available during a cutscene, so do as it says and you’ll be thrown right back into the action.
When it’s not possible to skip a cutscene, simply pressing this button doesn’t work, but for some reason the game doesn’t try and notify you that it isn’t possible to skip the cutscene. Instead, it kind of just leaves you to figure it out for yourself, but at least you’ve got the answer to the question now, even if it wasn’t the one you were after.
Outside of that, there’s not a whole lot more you need to know regarding how to skip cutscenes in Metro Exodus. For more tips, tricks, and guides on Artyom’s adventure across the dangerous surface, be sure to check out our ever-expanding Metro Exodus guide wiki.
