Defeat the Adamantoise
After completing Final Fantasy XV, several new in-game events will unlock. One of those events is a hunt that pits Noctis, Gladiolus, Ignis, and Prompto against a mountain. Well, not a mountain exactly, but a monstrous, mountain-shaped tortoise called the Adamantoise. It’s the game’s largest boss, and is meant to be the ultimate challenge for players who think they can hang with the best hunters in all of Eos.
The Adamantoise is a Lvl. 99 boss with 5 Million HP. It’s immune to Holy, and can take out a fighter with one hit. Thankfully it’s not the quickest thing in the game. This monster plus speed would make for an impossible challenge. Once it’s defeated, you’ll earn yourself 50,000 Gil, an Adamantite Bangle, a Trophy or Achievement, and some major bragging rights.
If you’re looking to take on the beast, we have a handy guide for you here. Good luck!
Gamble
While playing through Final Fantasy XV’s story, you’ll find yourself in Altissia, home of the Leviathan and a major turning point for the game’s narrative. The main missions take you through this beautiful city very quickly, so you may not notice that there happens to be a large arena in the south. There are three gondola paths: yellow, green, and purple. The purple path takes you right to the Arena Galviano where you can bet on monster fights.
You don’t bet money, though. Instead, you bet an arena-specific currency known as Galviano Medals. Each fight will have anywhere from two to four different monsters to choose from, with some attacking as groups. You’ll have their odds and their condition to help you make your choice. Once your bet is placed, you watch them duke it out. You can also influence the battle using horns that have varying effects — they can heal, increase attack, raise defense, and more.
When you’re done, trade your winnings for some useful items. You can’t get any Gil for your efforts, but you’ll be surprised how many hours you can pass simply watching monsters tear each other apart.
End-Game Dungeons
Scattered throughout Final Fantasy XV’s world are these odd doors that look like they belong on a vault more than at the bottom of a dungeon. If you approach these before completing the game they’ll be locked, concealing the secrets that lay behind. Once you complete the story, however, you can obtain a key that opens all these mysterious entrances.
Head on over to Risorath Basin, located at the top of the map, just east of the Vesperpool. Here you’ll find Ezma (an old lady sitting on a porch), who will hand you the Dungeon Seal Key kicking off a new quest titled “Menace Beneath Lucis.” You’ll now have access to all of those odd looking doors which are actually entrances to end-game dungeons. There are eight in total for you to try out. Finish one and some great rewards will be waiting for you:
- Level 55 – Keycatrich Trench Dungeon
- Level 65 – Fociaugh Hollow Dungeon
- Level 65 – Greyshire Glacial Grotto Dungeon
- Level 72 – Daurell Caverns Dungeon
- Level 78 – balouve Mines Dungeon
- Level 86 – Steyliff Grove Dungeon
- Level 92 – Crestholm Channels Dungeon
- Level 99 – Costlemark Tower Dungeon
They aren’t easy, so you’ll want to definitely to level up your team. You’ll also want to dive into the Ascension trees to give yourself as many advantages as possible.
Become the Chocobo Racing Champion
Let’s be honest, riding Chocobos is easily one of the most fun parts of Final Fantasy XV. Watching drop their butts as they drift around corners, or rapidly flap their wings as they try to stay in the air. They’re adorable. You can train them up to be faster and stronger as you play through the game, and you can even participate in some races.
Technically, these races are available prior to beating the game. But what kind of hero ignores saving the world to watch overgrown chickens race? Well, most of us. But, if you’re one of the better kinds of heroes out there, then now’s your time to show them how to really ride a Chocobo.
Trophy/Achievement Cleanup
Now that the story is wrapped up, you may want to grab all of those Trophies and Achievements you left behind. You’ll get a lot of them while just playing through the main parts of the game, but you should still have quite a few to earn when all is said and done. Leveling up the special skills of each party member, completing the Adamantoise challenge, and finding weapons should all still be on your list. And now you’ll now be free to explore, fish, and train your party up to be the toughest Trophy/Achievement collectors in all of Eos.
