One of the main complaints players had with the original Persona 5 was that the Mementos dungeon was too boring and repetitive. With the release of Persona 5 Royal, Atlus has clearly taken that feedback to heart and is trying to address those concerns. Here’s how to get and use stamps in Persona 5 Royal.
Stamps in Persona 5 Royal
Similar to the flowers, stamps are a new form of collectible or currency that can only be used within Mementos. With the introduction of the new NPC and vendor Jose, players will now be able to interact with stamp machines in Mementos to fill up their stamp card, then exchange those for useful rewards with Jose.
As a general rule of thumb, there should be at least one stamp machine on every floor of Mementos. From our experience, they’re usually located right next to the stairs leading down to the next level, so they’re pretty hard to miss.
However, there are instances where a floor might hide another machine. They’ll be indicated on your mini-map with a golden star icon, as shown below.
How to Use Stamps in Persona 5 Royal
Once you’ve collected enough stamps, you can use them to redeem useful rewards from Jose. Talk to him in Mementos, then choose the Cognition option from his menu.
From here, you can use your stamps to do one of three things: increase the experience gains, increase the monetary gains, or increase the number of items you gain from killing enemies.
The experience boost is the most expensive, costing you five stamps for each tier, but certainly well worth the cost if you’re looking to grind levels. The monetary boost is extremely useful as well, if you’re looking to get more money to purchase better gear and weapons.
Either way, make your selection in the menu, then confirm with the Ask For Change option at the bottom. It is possible to reset all your boosts and reallocate your stamps, but you’ll need to spend flowers for that, which can be pretty scarce.
