How to Emote and Get More Emotes in Fallout 76

Fallout 76 marks the Fallout series’ first foray into multiplayer, and as a result includes many of the features one would expect from an online multiplayer experience. This includes the ability to use emotes and dances to lend some personality to players’ interactions with one another, and today we’re here to help you figure out how to emote in Fallout 76, as well as where to find new emotes and dances as you make your way through the game.

How to Emote

When Fallout 76 players want to execute an emote, they simply need to press down on the directional pad. This will open up the emote menu, and from here players can select whichever action they want to use with the X button on PlayStation 4 or the A button on Xbox One.

These can be executed at anytime, though it is recommended that they be reserved for interactions with friends and while threats are not present.

How to Get New Emotes

As players make their way through Fallout 76, they can also purchase and unlock more pf these little animations from the Atomic Shop. This can be found from the main menu. To access this, you’ll need to open up the map with the Options button on PS4 or Menu button on Xbox One, and then press L1 or LB.

Now, you’ll need to head down to the Atomic Shop option. Keep in mind, you’ll need Atoms if you want to buy additional emotes, which can either be purchased as a microtransaction in Fallout 76, or earned by completing challenges.

It’s worth noting that players do have a selection of these little animations provided to them at the start of the game, and it is completely optional to purchase more. However, the limited selection available to you does make it pretty difficult to actually communicate properly with other players if you’re not using voice chat.

That’s pretty much all there is you need to know to emote and get more of them in Fallout 76.

Fallout 76 is set for release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on Nov. 14. For more on the game, check out our guides on other topics like how to get caps fast.
