The world of Ghost of Tsushima is a dangerous one. Mongols are just waiting for a chance to do a deadly dance with Jin, and it’ll be up to you to slice your way through them with his trusty Katana sword. Of course, every samurai must rest, and so must you. In this guide, we’ll talk you through how to save in Ghost of Tsushima so you can safely record your progress.

Saving in Ghost of Tsushima

Ghost of Tsushima uses an auto-save system to record your progress. Every time you complete a main mission, side mission, or uncover a new location, you’ll notice that the game auto-saves.

You can tell an auto-save is in progress when a small icon flashes up in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. When it does, do not turn your console off, otherwise you risk corrupting your save file.

Thanks to how regular the auto-save system is, it’s not very often that you’ll feel like you need to manually save in between them. If you do, though, fortunately, Ghost of Tsushima has the option to manually record your progress, too. We’ve broken down the steps you need to take below.

Can You Manually Save in Ghost of Tsushima?

Yes, you can! To manually save, simply press the Options button on your PS4 controller and go to the Options section. You’ll find the ‘Save Game’ option at the bottom of the menu. Select this and follow the on-screen steps.

After that, you’ll be free to quit Ghost of Tsushima, safe in the knowledge that your progress has been saved.
