Animal Crossing New Horizons is easily one of the most popular games out on the Nintendo Switch right now, and it features hundreds of different things you can craft with the in-game materials you find. Some of the things you craft can be used to prank other players as well. Here’s how to get and craft Pitfall Seeds in Animal Crossing New Horizons.
Getting and Crafting Pitfall Seeds in Animal Crossing New Horizons
Pitfall Seeds are an item in the game that you can bury in the ground to prank your own villagers or friends who come to visit your island. When buried in the ground, it will cause any character to fall into that spot on the ground for a short period of time once they walk over it. After a few seconds, they’ll escape and will be able to play the game as per normal.
It doesn’t really serve any other purpose besides pranking your friends. Ideally, you’ll want to bury them behind trees so that they’re not visible onscreen, and characters and villagers will be more susceptible to the trap.
You can obtain Pitfall Seeds through two methods: crafting with the DIY Recipe, or digging them up from holes.
Whenever you bury a Pitfall Seed in the ground, it’ll leave the star-shaped mark you see for buried items. If you have a friend trying to prank you and you happen to be able to dig it up from the ground before stepping over it, you’ll get to keep the Pitfall Seed.
In addition to that, digging it up will also allow you to automatically learn the DIY Recipe.
Pitfall Seed Crafting Recipe & Ingredients
- Clump of weeds x4
- Tree branch x6
Aside from that, the DIY Recipe can also be randomly obtained through other means like popping air balloons, opening message bottles, and from villagers crafting in their own houses.
