How to Cure Shadowbound in XCOM 2: War of the Chosen

One of the new enemies in XCOM 2: War of the Chosen is the Spectre. These creepy aliens (literally just a ton of bees) are pretty powerful if they’re not handled quickly. Their shtick is to Shadowbound your soldiers. Basically, they turn your soldier’s soul into a body of bees. It’s, like, a more advanced (and way more messed up) version of mind control.

The best way to help Shadowbound, just like mind control, is to defeat the Spectre. They’re not that hard to take down, but they can move all over the battlefield quickly. You know, due to them not really having the weight of flesh dragging them down. Once you do take the Spectre down, the weird formation of bees that was your rogue soldier dissipates, and your soldier regains consciousness (standing up from wherever they were first knocked down). Keep this in mind if your soldier’s body was knocked out awhile back on the battlefield.

XCOM 2: War of the Chosen adds a whole ton more! It’s okay to be a bit overwhelmed. Plus, Twinfinite has your back! Be sure to check back with us if you have any more questions about the game.
