Is There Online Co-Op Multiplayer? in Dragon Quest XI?
Dragon Quest XI from Square Enix, and fans of the long long running JRPG series can finally dive into the newest entry. And if you’re a newcomer, Dragon Quest XI is a great place to start.
Dragon Quest XI is a traditional, old-school style JRPG where you play as young man who is highly sought after by both malevolent and forces of good due to his special, previously unknown nature of his existence. It sounds like heavy stuff, but the game is quite colorful, lighthearted, and easy to process from what we’ve previewed at E3.
Most JRPGs in video games tend to be single-player titles only. There are a few exceptions of course. Child of Light, although not from Japan, featured similar gameplay and had some light co-op thrown in. And, of course, there is Final Fantasy XV whch added the Comrades game mode which functioned as a co-op mode for the popular AAA JRPG from Square Enix. Considering we’re dealing with Square Enix again here, some might be wondering if there is some kind of splitscreen local co-op multiplayer option in Dragon Quest XI.
Sadly we have some bad news on that front. There is no splitscreen local co-op multiplayer in Dragon Quest XI. The game is wholly a single-player affair.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news this time, but you should have plenty to enjoy just in the single-player. There are tons of quests to complete, people to meet, and things to see to keep you occupied over a long period of time over the course of the game’s story.
That does it for whether there is online co-op multiplayer in Dragon Quest XI for PlayStation and PC. For more tips, tricks, guides, and FAQs answered be sure to search Twinfinite and take a look at our full wiki guide.
