How to Trade with Friends in Pokemon Let’s Go
Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Evee have finally arrived, revamping the original Pokemon Yellow with pretty new graphics and some big changes to gameplay mechanics. Here’s how to trade with friends in Pokemon Let’s Go.
Like all versions of in the franchise, there’s obviously two different editions of the Let’s Go: Pikachu, and Evee. Each have exclusive Pokemon, but you don’t have to own both to catch em’ all. Instead, you can use the handy trading features to trade with friends.
To do so, simply press X to open main menu, choose Communicate, then select Play With Others. From here, you’ll want to select either internet or local wireless connection depending on which mode you’ve linked up with your friends. Then, choose the Trade option.
To actually establish a connection, you need to decide on a link code with your friend so that everything is secure and both systems recognize each other accurately. Once you’ve made up a code, enter the link code, and then your system should locate your friend.
You can now trade ‘mon from each system via the trade menu. You should see a giant list of all your Pokemon, represented in pixelated images. Cycle across the options (your friend will see your cursor hovering across the Pokemon on his end too) and then select which to “offer.”
The other player will then be able to inspect the Pokemon’s stats before accepting — which will initiate a cutscene graphic over your Pokemon zapping across to your friend’s system.
You will be able to trade all Pokemon except for your partner.
Do note, though, given that you’ll need to trade only with people that you’ve both got on your friends list and have agreed on a link code, you won’t be able to trade with random players on the internet.
