How to Get More Weapon Slots in Warframe

Warframe is an expansive (and ever-expanding) free-to-play MMO shooter with ninjas, swords, hoverboards and of course, guns. For those that have put in hundreds and hundreds of hours into the game, you know that weapon slots are very valuable — they give you the ability to carry more guns and in any shooter, that’s always a plus. For those that haven’t put in hundreds of hours yet, you might be wondering how to acquire more weapon slots. It might seem a bit confusing, but fear not, we’ve got you covered. First and foremost, it’s important to note that there is only one way to get more weapon slots: Platinum.

When you first start Warframe, you’ll begin with a small amount of Platinum. If you still have it you’re in luck. Use it to purchase some weapon slots. You might be tempted to spend this currency elsewhere, but purchasing extra weapon slots will help you not only 10 hours into the game, but 100 in as well. Each weapon slot costs six Platinum, so this starter amount should get you a good number of slots. If you’ve already spent this starter amount, bad news: there is no way to earn Platinum by simply playing Warframe.

There are ways to acquire more, though.

The most simple way is also the most expensive. Simply put, if you’re in dire need of additional slots, you might be in dire need of Platinum. To solve this problem, bust out the wallet and say goodbye to some hard-earned cash. For $199.99, you can get 4300 Platinum. This is more than enough to purchase enough weapon slots to house every gun in the game. For $99.99, you’ll get 2100 Platinum, which is also plenty of Platinum to purchase every weapon slot you can. For $49.99, you’ll get 1000 Platinum, which isn’t enough to buy every weapon slot, but it is absolutely plenty. If you’re not trying to hurt your checking account, for $19.99, you can get 370 Platinum, 170 for $9.99 and finally, 75 for $4.99.

If you’re not interested in spending money, understandably so, there is another way: trading.

The quickest and easiest way to acquire Platinum via trading will require you to complete defense and survival missions. Upon doing so, you’ll receive relics. Now, open your Navigation menu and search for a mission tab dubbed “Void Fissures.” Take a relic into a Void Fissure mission and you’ll get a random prime part. These prime parts can be used to make weapons and warframes. Every two weeks, though, the Void Trader will arrive and you can turn in prime parts for currency. You don’t want to do this, but you do want other players in your world to. If you see players doing this, that means they’re interested in obtaining the currency the Void Trader rewards those who give them prime parts.

Interact with another player and attempt to trade them some of your prime parts. Ideally, they’re looking for more so they can turn them into the Void Trader. If so, you’re in luck. You should be able to sell your common prime parts for about one Platinum each, and even more if the prime part is rare rather than common. Continue doing this until you have enough Platinum to purchase however many weapon slots you want.

That’s all you need to know about how to get more weapon slots in Warframe. For more on the game, be sure to search for Twinfinite.
