How to Change Costumes in Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition
Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition is something fans have been wanting for a long time; all of the content from the Japan-exclusive PS3 version localized for the west. Part of this content is a wealth of DLC costumes that never made it to America before now, including some fun Namco Bandai costumes like KOS-MOS from Xenosaga. Here’s how to change costumes in Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition.
How to Change Costumes
In order to equip a character with a new costume, you’ll need to equip them with the proper title. To do this open the main menu with triangle on PS4 (X on Switch, and Y on Xbox) then go to the Status menu.
There you’ll see a Title option for the character you’ve selected, now open that and you’ll see all of that character’s titles.
Anything with a little clothing icon next to it will equip that character with a new costume, so pick your favorite. In order to change costumes, however, you’ll need to get more.
How to Get Costumes
Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition gives you a ton of different costumes to play around with. First and foremost, you need to get all of the extra costumes added in. To do this, open the main menu then go to your items menu. Tab over to the Extra Items menu and you’ll see costume packs for each character.
You’ll need to manually open each one of these, but you’ll only be able to do it while that party member is in your party. So, for example, Patty and Flynn often leave your party so you’ll need to open their packs while they’re with you.
There’s another costume pack that you can get for the game, through the game’s page on whichever console you’re using. Just head to the PSN Store, Xbox Store, or Switch eShop and find the page for Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition, then head to the DLC section.
The Costume Pack can be downloaded entirely for free, and adds one more costume to almost every character.
Of course, you can also get more costumes by simply playing the game and meeting certain challenges or story sections. For example, early on in the story you’ll have to choose between Karol, Estelle, or Judith to distract a guard.
After that sequence, you can go back to the item shop and you’ll get the costume to use.
Hopefully that covers everything you need to know about how to change costumes in Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition.
