Loop Hero is a brand new deck-building rogue-lite RPG from FourQuarters and Devolver Digital, and it’s been making its way to the top of the Steam charts since its official release last week. That being said, the game does contain some weirdly worded descriptions that can be a bit confusing to players. Here’s what Magic Damage does in Loop Hero.
What Magic Damage Does in Loop Hero
Magic Damage is one of the stats you can pick up and level up during an expedition in Loop Hero. However, the game never explains exactly what it is.
Basically, Magic Damage serves as a flat damage increase for your character. If your attack is already at 20, getting 5 more Magic Damage will bump it up to 25. Aside from just being a flat damage increase, though, it also has other uses against specific enemies.
It’s important to note that Magic Damage will bypass an enemy’s defense stat, making it a lot more effective against enemies with very high defense.
For instance, the skeletons that you can spawn from cemeteries are pretty tanky and tough to kill, but if you have high enough Magic Damage, you can take them out pretty quickly.
This is still very situational, though, and if you’re facing enemies with just regular defense stats, you won’t have to worry too much about building Magic Damage on your character unless you just want an attack boost during your expedition.
But early on in the game, it’s usually worth focusing on building other stats that are more immediately useful such as Vampirism or even regen.
Finally, just like all the other stats in the game, you can get Magic Damage by picking up new equipment as you defeat enemies in the game.
That’s all you need to know about what Magic Damage does in Loop Hero. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
