Is There Co-op Multiplayer in South Park: The Fractured But Whole?
The sequel to South Park: The Stick of Truth, The Fractured But Whole, is finally out and it sees you and the other kids of South Park move away from fantasy characters to unique superheroes. During your adventure you’ll fill out your character sheet, explore the town, and take on sixth graders in combat, but can you do any of this alongside another real-world player in co-op multiplayer?
Unfortunately, just as was the case with the previous game, there is no co-op multiplayer of any kind in The Fractured But Whole, whether that be online or off. While the developer has never stated whether or not they plan to add co-operative play to a South Park game in the future, it is unlikely that we’ll see anything. The Fractured But Whole is a very single-player focused experience where you develop your single character and interact closely with the town and its inhabitants. The only possible option for co-op action would be something that was linked to the combat buddy system in the game where the second player could control the second friendly character, but that would be limited to certain quests. If co-op is ever added to The Fractured But Whole, we will be sure to update you.
