Resident Evil Village is the eighth mainline entry in Capcom’s popular survival horror franchise, and it continues the story of Ethan Winters after his run-in at the Baker estate. The games makes use of the first-person perspective, which marks quite a drastic shift from your usual RE games. If you’ve pre-ordered the game, though, there is a bonus or two that might make the game just a tad easier. Here’s how to redeem preorder bonuses in Resident Evil Village.

Redeeming Preorder & Deluxe Edition Bonuses in Resident Evil Village

There are tons of cool preorder items you can get by pre-purchasing various editions of the game. There’s the soundtrack, bonus artwork and case files, as well as the Trauma Pack, which includes a new difficulty mode and some in-game items.

Most of these items such as the artwork and case files are immediately accessible once you’ve installed the game and DLC, but the in-game items can only be obtained once you’ve progressed a little in the game.

The Village of Shadows difficulty mode is also instantly accessible at the very start, though it’s certainly recommended that you start with Normal if you’re playing the game for the first time.

The in-game items that you’ll need to wait to get are:

  • The Mr. Everywhere Weapon Charm
  • The Samurai Edge – AW Model-01 Revolver

Both of these items can be obtained once you’ve finished the starting ‘tutorial’ level of the game and make your way to Castle Dimitrescu proper. Before entering the castle, you’ll encounter the Duke for the first time, and you can purchase supplies from him.

In his stock, you’ll find the Mr. Everywhere Weapon Charm, which costs nothing, as well as the Samurai Edge, which costs you 200 Lei. Simply purchase those and you’re good to go.

As badass as it sounds, the Samurai Edge is only very slightly better than the starter handgun you get in Resident Evil Village. It also carries one less bullet in the chamber, but if you find yourself needing just a little bit of extra firepower in the early stages, or if you want to channel your inner Albert Wesker, it’s a good weapon to go with.

That’s all you need to know about how to redeem preorder bonuses in Resident Evil Village. Be sure to check our guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
