How to Get Coal – Conan Exiles
Coal is a vital resource in Conan Exiles, useful as fuel but also necessary for turning iron into steel. It can reach higher temperatures than other types of fuel, making it essential for later-game works. But where exactly do you get coal?
Coal nodes are dark black rocks, often found around the edges of mountains. Most players need to venture a bit from their starting area to really encounter plentiful coal nodes, finding them more north of spawn, in the center of the map. Players have reported nodes in the far west and east areas of the map, as well. Generally, search around rocky mountain areas, and you should encounter some near the mountain-side.
Take care when treading into mountain regions, however. These places are often filled with enemy camps and animals, and you should be at least a little equipped for battle should you venture through. Keep your distance from any threats when you’re chasing after valuable resources.
Once you find a node, strike at it with your pickaxe to collect. One healthy node should offer nearly 100 coal for your troubles.
