You’ll want to make good use of these since enemies are a bit more persistent this time around.

Of course, before you can put these to use you’ll have to find them, so let’s get you sorted out with all the new-fangled upgrades hidden in Dying Light: The Following.

Bad Plug

Dying Light The Following Weapon Blueprints

Bad Plug is a mod that provides both electrical damage and an impact boost to bladed weapons. You’ll locate it in a building far north of Jasir’s Farm. There is a safe zone nearby that you can clear first. It will be inside of a powerbuilding behind a barb-wired fence. Head around back (near the trees) to get in.

This mod can be used on: Short Knives, Long Knives, and Blades.

Chill Kill

Dying Light The Following Weapon Blueprints

The Chill Kill blueprint is located in a tower right next to one of the southern Volatile nests. Head southeast from Jasir’s farm and it will be on top of mountain. You’ll locate a safe zone that can be cleared. Climb the tall tower in this safe zone to the very top to find the fancy wooden chest housing this one. It will add a freezing effect to your tools so you can smash any foolish enemies.

This mod can be used on: Small Hammers, Wrenches, Picks, Pickaxes, and Two-Handed Hammers.

Discharger

Dying Light The Following Weapon Blueprints

The Discharger is a lot like Bad Plug in that it adds electricity to your blade, but it lacks the impact boost. You’ll find this in Bilal’s Gas Station in the kitchen. Just check the drawers by the microwave and it’s yours.

This mod can be used on: Khopesh, Scythes, and Two-Handed Swords.

Flame Stabber

Dying Light The Following Weapon Blueprints

The Flame Stabber is one of the most basic blueprints in The Following as it adds fire damage to knives. It’s also one of the first blueprints you’ll find (if not the first). At the very beginning of the DLC, when you exit the tunnels, you’ll find a wooden tower nearby. This blueprint is in the locked chest at the top of that tower.

This mod can be used on: Short Knives and Long Knives.

Ice Cream

Dying Light The Following Weapon Blueprints

This is yet another bladed weapon modification. It adds a freeze stun effect, stopping enemies in their tracks for a few seconds as if they got brain-freeze. You’ll find this near Bilal’s Gas Station. Just head to the outpost due south and you’ll find a restaurant just north of its walls. The blueprint is on one of the magazine racks inside.

This mod can be used on: Sickles and Cleavers.

Nailer

Dying Light The Following Weapon Blueprints

This blueprint will help you create a classic zombie slaying weapon. Nothing like a bat full of nails to let the living dead know that you mean business. In the northwester part of the map is a barn to the east of a large lake. Enter through the top floor and find a desk. The Blueprint is in the drawer.

This mod can be used on: Baseball Bats.

Phlebotomizer

The Phlebotomizer blueprint allows you to craft a bladed weapon that causes bleeding. Bleeding damage lasts a few seconds and continues to eat away at an enemies health, even when you’re on the run. This is one of the easier blueprints to find since it’s located in Jasir’s Farm in the building where he can be found. Just search the crates behind his desk.

This mod can be used on: Scythes, Handsaws, Two-Handed Swords, Blades, Machetes, Cleavers, and Khopeshes.

Roast Blast

This particular blueprint can be found early on as well. At the beginning of The Following you’ll be tasked with collecting a buggy to use. The location is full of human enemies, and there is a large barn in the center of it. Locate the orange crates in one of the corners of the lower level, and you’ll find the Roast Blast blueprint on top of one of them.

This mod can be used on: Two-Handed Hammers, Two-Handed Axes, and Pickaxes.

Stiff Stick

Like to use bats and crowbars? Want to freeze enemies in place while you use them? Then you’ll want the Stiff Stick. This mod adds a freezing effect to certain blunt weapons so you can freeze and bash to your heart’s content. You’ll find this blueprint in a building to the north of the lake (the one in the northwest corner of the Countryside).

This mod can be used on: Baseball Bats and Crowbars.

Super Molotov

Dying Light The Following Weapon Blueprints

A blueprint that doesn’t require any weapons to construct. The Super Molotov is just like your usual trusty bottle of fire, only much stronger and can take out larger crowds. Locate the water plant to west of Jasir’s farm. You’ll find the blueprint inside of the biggest water tank. Just dive in and open the chest (and try not to drown).

Dying Light is known for hiding thing very well, so be sure to check back in to see if there are more weapon blueprints to be found.
