Nier Replicant was created and directed by Yoko Taro, which means that you can expect to have to play through this game a handful of times in order to see all of its multiple endings and get the full story. The good news is that after your first playthrough, things should move along pretty quickly as you can immediately pick up at the start of the second half with all your weapons and items intact. Here’s how to unlock all endings in Nier Replicant.

Do note that this article contains some light spoilers for story events, but we’ll try to keep things as spoiler-free as possible as we describe the process to getting all endings. It’s recommended that you only read this article after unlocking the first two endings.

Unlocking All Endings in Nier Replicant

There are a total of five endings in Nier Replicant. There were only four in the original PS3 and Xbox 360 release, with the fifth one only being available in Grimoire Nier, a Japan-exclusive book that delves deeper into the game’s universe and provides yet another conclusion to the story. We’ve listed all endings down below, along with how to unlock them.

Ending A

This is the most straightforward one. Simply play through the game naturally and follow the story. After defeating the final boss, the credits will roll and the game will inform you that you’ve unlocked Ending A after you create your clear save data.

Ending B

After seeing Ending A, save your game, then load up the cleared save file. This will drop you at the beginning of the second half of the game, but after the whole adventure at the basement of Emil’s Mansion. Simply play through the game to the end where you fight the final boss again, and the credits will roll. This gives you Ending B.

Ending C

After getting the first two endings in Nier Replicant, load up your cleared save file once again to play through the second half.

This time you need to have all 33 weapons in your inventory before you can proceed and see the new ending. We’ve got a full weapons guide here to help you out with collecting them.

Once you get all weapons, play the game normally through to the end to get a new boss fight. At the end of that fight, choose to kill that character. It’s recommended that you make a save right before the Shadowlord’s Castle during this route.

Ending D

This route is pretty much the same as the C route. Play all the way to the end, or just load up your save before the Shadowlord’s Castle. After defeating the bonus boss, choose to erase your existence to see this ending.

Ending E

You need to have unlocked Ending D in order to see Ending E. After erasing your existence, start a completely new file with a new file name. Play through the beginning of the game till you reach the second boss battle in the Aerie, where you get to fight alongside Kaine.

After beating the boss, you only need to play through the game for another two hours or so to see the final ending.

That’s all you need to know about how to get all endings in Nier Replicant. Be sure to search for Twinfinite or check our guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
